Are We Making People Thirsty?

Matthew 5:13 says that we are the salt of the earth.

Have you ever been around people and while you hung around them or listened to them speak, or sing, etc... It caused you to be more thirsty for Jesus.

That is what we are suposed to the people around us.  The presence of our Savior should be so evident in our lives that it should make them notice an attribute of His and make them thirsty for Him.

Are we displaying enough of the fruit of the spirit that would make others want to eat what we are eating.

The fruit of the spirit can be found in Galations 5:22-23  But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control...

When I walk through a grocery store and they are offering those little samples, I '   ...        .           '            "    ".

  1. Ok, I still don't have this blogging thing down yet. I am not sure if it is because I am using my droid to blog or not.

Just a continuation of my grocery store sampling story. Most of the time I do not stop and sample from the friendly vendors. Mainly because it it usually a snack food, and the last thing I need is to find another junk food that i absolutely "can not do without".

Now if these vendors would offer satisfying "full course meal" perhaps I could be convinced to sit down and enjoy their offerings. Now, let me bring a date? Hey, cheap date!!! But so many times we as christians are like those vendors offering samples. We have our booths set up for all to see (and they are they are watching) sometimes what people see in our lives is the junk... and a lot of times it is the same stuff they already have... why would they want more. Sometimes it is the "real deal" but it is offered in such small quantity that it is gone before they know it. Ie, being nice to them in order to attract them to our church.. but they show up.. and we and others won't even give them the time of day. A lot of times the booth is set up with signs advertising this great new product.. but then there is either 1. no one there to man the booth or 2. there is someone there.. but they have no product.

We are so guilty of this.. how many times do we have the sign out (we spout that we go to church, or that we love everyone, but the goods aren't displayed in our lives?

Psalm 34:8 says.. taste and ee that the Lord is good.

Many times the first taste of the Lord someone is going to get is when they take a bite out of us. Are they going to like what they taste.
